2 Teacher vacancies for September 2017

(MPS/UPS + 1 or 2 SEN Points dependant on experience)

Due to staff retirement we are looking to appoint two class teachers to join our dedicated team.

We are an all age special school, judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for the second time in September 2013. Our pupils, aged 4-19, have severe or profound learning difficulties. All have communication difficulties and many are autistic. In November 2011 we moved to a new location and we are delighted with our new purpose built special school situated close to Thorns Primary and Thorns Community College. The school has many enhanced facilities and we are able to provide a stimulating and well resourced learning environment.

We are seeking talented teachers from mainstream or special education with the skills and commitment to ensure our children receive the highest quality learning experiences. Applicants should be resourceful and flexible in approach, with good knowledge of pupils needs and how they can be met. They should also be team players able to manage the work of several teaching assistants. They will also be required to lead a subject area or take on an area of responsibility within the school.

We are very keen to appoint two excellent and enthusiastic class teachers who have a real desire to work with pupils with special educational needs. As an all age school we are seeking to appoint teachers with Primary, Secondary or Post 16 experience.

If you want to join a dedicated team of professionals we would like to hear from you. NQT's with a desire to work in a Special School can apply.

The appointed person will:
• Be a caring professional with exemplary teaching skills
• Work well within a team
• Ensure that every child matters

Old Park School can offer you:
• A friendly and exciting learning environment
• Enthusiastic, happy and responsive children.
• A comprehensive induction and commitment to your professional development.
• A highly supportive team of staff, parents and governors.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects the staff team to share this commitment. The post is subject to a successful criminal records and qualifications check.
The position is subject to a DBS Enhanced disclosure check. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment

Informal visits to the school are warmly welcomed. These are taking place on Wednesday 29th March during the day and also after school on Wednesday 5th April.
