Welcome to Parrot Class.
We are a class of ten pupils (three boys and seven girls), and there are five members of staff in our class, one teacher, one higher level teaching assistant and three teaching assistants.
We are a mixed Key Stage One and Key Stage Two Primary class who follow the National Curriculum as part of a structured day, including routines designed to help the children work on their independence, social and communication skills.
Parrot Class pupils respond well to the structure in the class and they are all making their teachers proud. The outside area is often an extension of the classroom and is used as a learning area during lesson time. We are learning to complete work activities as a whole group and in smaller groups at the work tables. We have a full timetable and enjoy learning in several specialist rooms around school.
Parrot Class pupils enjoy having fun and we have a lot of energy. Some of our group have very high sensory and physical needs and we will often complete some activities in the playground and other areas to help us to become calm enough to work. We always enjoy being active and we look forward to our weekly swimming sessions and our fortnightly trips to Forest School.
