Welcome to Class 2, 14 - 19 Phase. In our class we have students who have P.M.L.D and physical or sensory needs. All students use a wheelchair to be transported to and from school, but also have a variety of specialist equipment in class to meet specific needs such as:
As part of the curriculum our students receive an intense physical programme including: Swimming, Rebound, Sherborne and Physiotherapy. This promotes relaxation, muscle stretching, communication and general wellbeing. We work closely on a daily basis with our Complex Needs team who ensure that all medical needs are met and also carry out complex feeding needs throughout the day.
We enjoy many practical lessons in our specialist rooms including; the kitchen ,the library, the sensory room and the music room. Our students especially enjoy working outdoors in the Forest School area.
We work towards accreditation O.C.R. Life and Living skills alongside a personalised sensory curriculum to support their individual needs. Students in Class 2 experience offsite opportunities such as visiting Post 19 providers and transferring life skills within the community such as using money, crossing roads safely and social interaction.
We have weekly visits from the Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, V.I. team and the Hearing Impairment team.
Our students all work very hard and we are immensely proud of their achievements,
